Wet blasting service

Aqua blast surface preparation

Where the creation of a new surface profile is essential we and our customers have been impressed with our fully mobile, low volume wet blasting eco-friendly system. It can be used successfully on anything from the heaviest coatings applied to steel, various types of stonework, to removing of gel coats and anti-fouls from glass-reinforced plastic boat hulls and delicate cleaning of old timber. It is infinitely controllable and can rapidly produce an SA2/SA3 preparation standard on steel as easily as it can massage dirt and contamination from 500 year old oak beams.

It is very economic in abrasive material use offering a low cost cleaning solution for a wide range of surface cleaning applications from most forms of graffiti and removing thermoplastic white lining from road surfaces to steel surface preparation.

We find the system invaluable and are pleased to offer this portable plant together with trained operators to our customers.

Surface Preparation

Rust prevention can be achieved for up to 72 hours by using a non-toxic chemical additive for ferrous metal during the blasting process. This is achieved by leaving an extremely thin non phosphorous chemical film on the surface so as to prevent the atmosphere interfering with the substrate.

Mobile Aqua Blast System

The highly efficient pressurized wet abrasive system makes use of garnet, olivine, recycled glass and other special abrasives such as soda when a more gentle approach is required. The system runs without re-filling for up to 5 hours.

Bridge Structure Maintenance

Our Aqua blast system is infinitely controllable and can rapidly produce an SA2/SA3 preparation standard on steel. For steel surface preparation Almandite Garnet is highly efficient, demonstrating consumption rates of around 15 Kgs square meter compared to 40-45 Kg square meters for an equivalent open dry air blasting system.
