Protecting the environment
Safe & Clean
Our grade A hire float is maintained in a fully sanitised condition for use in environmentally sensitive areas. The float is power washed and sanitised using non-phosphorous cleaning chemicals, and transported on our own specially cleaned transport. We take pride in meeting the demanding environmental requirements for SSSI sites.
Protection of the environment is an increasingly important requirement for many of our customers. We maintain a large stock of grade ‘A’ cleaned and sterilised pontoon and accessory equipment reserved for all SSSI waterway projects in accordance with British Waterways and Natural England requirements.
Our preparation and operating procedures conform to the legislation applicable to undertaking operations within environmentally sensitive or protected waterways. All pontoon modules and accessories are pressure cleaned with non-phosphate biodegradable cleaning solution, pressure wash rinsed and dry-stored. We only use our own transport and trained operators for environmentally protected sites. Our Hiab flatbed lorries are pressure cleaned prior to delivery in accordance with our documented procedures to prevent any contamination of material transported to sensitive waterways.
Designed with the environment in mind
Fully Trained Staff
Our staff are fully trained and briefed on the special operating procedures pertaining to operations in SSSI sites to ensure no infringement of environmental policies.
Our pontoon system is made from industrial strength High-Density Molecular Weight (0,954g/cm3) Polyethylene HD-PE Lupolen 5261Z (BASF). This material is 100% UV resistant and will not splinter or rot and is resistant to saltwater electrolysis, chemicals, acids and hydrocarbons. Compared to other conventional floating facilities, such as metal-framed or polystyrene-filled plastic container-based jetty/pontoons, ‘Magic-Float’ is not only totally inert in all environments but also significantly tougher and longer-lasting.
